The R1155 is the most sought after of RAF radio's, along with it's companion transmitter the T1154, in todays thought's they are often seen as quite impractical as people today have the insight of comparing them with American and German radio's of the same age. Picture yourself in the early stages of WW2, on an aircraft that has its design routes in WW1, using the R1082 and T1083 combination, if someone showed you the R1155 and T1154 set up there would be no doubt it was a step forward.
