Very nice example of this sought after WW2 military radio. Very presentable condition, in my opinion, requires some cleaning. Marks from storage.
The TBY 8 was used extensively in the Pacific theatre, to provide communication to the US marines and others, while a beach landing is taking place and during the advance. Famously they were used by the wind talkers.
They were also used by the British and US in Europe, to provide communication during beach landings, such as D day and the landings in Italy.
If you are looking for an example, this is a very nice one.
The battery box has been made by someone out of wood, but looks good when on the radio.
Sold as is, untested.
Any questions please ask.
